Dan Berkson
Dan Berkson is a California-based jazz pianist, composer, and electronic music producer originally hailing from Chicago, a long-time resident of London, and Trinity Laban Conservatoire alum. His latest project “Dialogues”, recorded in north London’s Livingston Studios four days before moving to Oakland, California, is a conversation between his past and future self. It’s a retrospective on time in a much-beloved city while facing the uncertainty of a new life, an organic album filled with meditative and melodic cuts inspired by the works of jazz greats such as Charlie Haden, Carla Bley, Keith Jarrett, and Ornette Colman, as well as Detroit legends Theo Parrish and Moodymann.
